So what’s the best rug care tip that Grandma may not have shared with you?  She knew how critical it was to remove dry soils from her area rugs! This is the first, and easily the most important, step in proper rug care! 

Remember those old cowboy movies that showed a woman beating a rug over a clothes line?  They were knocking out the dry soil, sand, little stones, and all the other debris that got tracked onto the rug.  Dry soil is the NUMBER ONE cause of wear and tear on area rugs!  Dry soil is just like sandpaper and grinds roughly against your delicate rug fibers until the rug becomes threadbare.  By giving her rugs a good beating and dusting on a regular basis, Grandma was staying one step ahead of this problem.

Here at Arizona Oriental, we don’t use wooden rug beaters anymore, but we do use modern day dusters that are designed for maximum dry soil removal.  Dusting isn’t an option when you have your rugs cleaned at home, which is why it’s a good reason to have your rugs brought into us!  I promise that you will definitely see and love the difference!
