Still Going After 100 Years – Grandma & Her Beloved Area Rug!

How long has that area rug you have sitting on your floor been there?  5, 10, maybe even 20+ years?  WHAT ABOUT YOUR MOM’S RUG?

Recently a client came in to Arizona Oriental who’s adorable Mom was 100 years old and had a rug nearly as old!  You can probably imagine there is a lot of ongoing care given to Mom.  But beyond the personal care that she receives, there are other needs, too!

One of the things she really, REALLY wanted was to have her beloved (and neglected) area rug cleaned.

Everyone is so busy with Mom’s personal care that they tend to overlook what would really make her happy – GETTING HER FAVORITE RUG CLEANED.  She wants the spills, traffic, soil, and perhaps the occasional puppy or potty accident cleaned out of her rug.  Soil builds up over the years, covering up the beautiful colors that Mom still remembers from years ago.

One last thing: Please don’t neglect repairs!  A tiny ½” repair will worsen over time and, before you know it, the repair will be a lot more extensive!  Damage worsens and can cause further unravelling of the rug over time, meaning the cost to repair will increase.  Neglecting necessary repairs is not only bad for your rug in the long run, it’s bad for your budget too!
