Imagine you were a rug laying on the floor for 3 years, 5 years, maybe 20 years!  And everyone walked on you daily. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. The dog, the cat, the baby, work boots, snowy-muddy boots, yup, you've seen it all, and you've seen it up close and got real personal with all of it. From dog pee and poo to cat vomit. Baby spit up, muddy footprints, food, drinks.... the whole enchilada! Do you think a simple little cleaning will do? Hmmmm, think again!

To really clean a rug the rug needs to go through a process. A process to include several steps such as dry soil removal, agitation, flushing, rinsing, extracting and speed drying.  While it’s impossible to show all steps in one short video I have chosen to feature the step of flushing because this helps to show viewers just what is in a rug and how we here at Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care in Prescott AZ are able to extract this soil out of the rug.

And please remember that soil in a rug is one of a rug's worst enemy. WHY?  Because soil is abrasive on the delicate fibers and will grind away until there is obvious, permanent wear and tear. Not to mention ANIMAL URINE - one of the WORST spots to have on a rug. The pH level of the urine stains change as they dry, which can cause permanent color loss, bleeding of dyes and DRY ROT!  (fibers will break down, crack and split with dry rot)

BOTTOM LINE - Rugs need to be cleaned on an average of every 2 to 3 years. When is the last time your rug was cleaned?  What's hiding in your rug?
