The reason is not that we are just trying to drum up more business for ourselves - Simply put, it is much more difficult to have control over the different factors that can change the course of the necessary care when a rug is cleaned in a client’s home instead of a rug washing facility. In other words it would be like a dentist pulling a tooth on a Saturday at his neighbor’s house instead of having the neighbor come into his office where he has all the right tools and medication.
It may also be impossible to correct any problems that may arise when cleaning in a client’s home. These issues can include (but are certainly not limited to) color bleed, shrinkage, or even musty odors from improper drying. Additionally, urine decontamination won’t be possible when cleaning in the home. Both fine Oriental and Persian area rugs and even the most affordable rugs are subject to these problems and can unfortunately end up ruined if the proper care is not taken.
Would you ask a mechanic or your hair colorist to come to your home and work with limited resources on what you needed done? Of course not! That’s because you know that some things just require certain environments, equipment, and conditions that are simply not available in the home. Area rug cleaning is the same way.
