I thought I'd wrap up the week by discussing one of the essential phases in the pre-inspection process for rug cleaning because failing to do so at home might result in your rug being damaged. Of course, the dye migration test is what I'm referring to!
Hi, folks! Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care here in Prescott.
Here you can learn why a professional Prescott rug cleaning company will always carry this out before going further.
What Do You Do In a Dye Migration Test?
When area rugs arrive at Arizona Oriental, the first thing we do is perform a pre-inspection to identify the rug's exact condition. This allows our rug cleaning specialists to choose the optimum cleaning approach for each rug. As a result, every rug that passes through our facilities in the region gestures just what it requires!
However, another phase in our pre-inspection procedure is possibly the most important of them all! Sure, we look for pre-existing issues on each rug, but the essential concern about these carpets is always if the colors are stable.
Each area rug undergoes a dye migration test to stabilize the cleaning colors and decide whether they are stable or need to be pre-treated. Color bleeding indicates that the colors were not correctly adjusted during production.
What does Will happen After My Prescott Dye Migration Test?
When the dye migration test results are negative, there is no need to be concerned! First, however, we need to know if the rug should be pre-treated to maintain the colors and avoid bleeding throughout the washing process!
Colors should be locked into their dye sites during pre-treatment not to migrate when we clean them. This procedure is beneficial for practically any rug, and we rarely have any issues with colors migrating.
As you can see, this is one of the essential parts of our cleaning and pre-cleaning inspection process! For example, knowing if the colors are stable when cleaning a rug makes no difference.
If you launder your area rugs at home, the dyes may migrate and bleed into the rest of the rug.
Alternatively, have your rugs cleaned by the professionals at Arizona Oriental, where we constantly test every color for stability on every rug!
