It’s that time of year again. Time for Smoki Museum’s 19th annual auction here in Prescott AZ. What a wonderful event to help support the Smoki Museum. This is so highly regarded that not only does it attract the locals but you can count on some serious Indian art collectors from around the country to be in attendance too!
With over 300 rugs up for bid this Saturday, September 17th , this will certainly give rug lovers a good opportunity to find that special treasure for their home! Often attended by our long time locals but ever so popular with our newcomers that are decorating their home in a southwest motif and in the hunt for a beautiful Navajo rug. Additionally you can expect the serious collectors who travel across the country to this auction too!
It’s not just Navajo rugs! You will also see other art pieces on display and up for auction too. These pieces may come from locals that want to consign and sell their Navajo rugs and art as well as from Bruce Burnham, the prestigious auctioneer of Indian art.
With auction items starting as low as $50.00 there is likely something for everyone. Even if you aren’t planning on purchasing, you’re sure to have fun admiring these hand woven rugs, learning a bit of history and observing the auction.
