I hope all the readers here today are making festive plans with friends and relatives for the foot stomping good times here in Prescott Valley over this 4th of July. Of course foot stomping refers to the influx of cowboys we see in our quad city area due to the World’s Oldest Rodeo we are so proud of. Today I thought I would share a tip for you regarding your area rugs and how sometimes they get soiled during these festive times. Here are Arizona Oriental we see it all the time….. Folks have family and friends come to town to enjoy the many 4th of July celebrations and they bring their pets.
I don’t care how well trained the owner of the pet proclaims their pet is; I stand by my belief that a pet taken out of its normal routine and environment is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately the disaster is often times on YOUR AREA RUGS! Many dogs and cats are territorial and when in a new, strange to them environment, will instinctively want to mark their territory. Additionally there is the nervous visiting pet that is just so out of sorts that he/she doesn’t really know what to do, when to do it or where to do it.
With this in mind, I suggest that you keep your visiting pets away from your nice area rugs. That might mean quarantining them out of the rug area room(s). Or it may mean rolling up your rugs and putting them away for the time your visitors are with you. Whatever precautions you choose to take, I do think it is wise to take precautions!
Have a wonderful 4th of July and remember pets do not think or act like humans do so protect your rugs from disastrous outcomes before they happen!
