How to Avoid Mice Damage Disasters with Your Area Rugs! – Prescott Valley AZ
Hi folks, Ruthie here with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care in Prescott AZ! I’ve talked before about how you should ALWAYS take precautions when storing your area rugs to avoid moth infestations, but today I wanted to talk about another danger to unprotected area rugs – mice!
Mice LOVE area rug fibers for nesting material. Not only is it nice and soft, but if a mouse happens upon an unprotected area rug, there’s an entire rug to take nesting material from! Unprotected rugs are kind of like a free-for-all for mice – which can mean a real problem for your area rug.
The lovely little silk rug shown here to the right was stored in one of our client’s garages unprotected. Luckily, the mice only stole away with the most of the silk fringe. The damages certainly could have been much worse, like the second rug shown below, for instance. This little rug, too, was left unprotected in a storage unit and fell victim to mice in a big way! Not only have the fringes been stolen away, but a huge chunk of the rug has been stolen away to make a nice nest for a family of mice.
