How Long Does it Take to Clean My Area Rug? – Prescott AZ
Ruthie here with Arizona Oriental and I get asked this question a lot – How long does the process really take and when can I pick up my area rug? Most people assume that their area rug will be ready in a few days but that’s just not the case! Most area rugs are with us somewhere between 3 to 4 weeks. Why? THERE ARE A LOT MORE STEPS THAT GO INTO A THOROUGH, PROPER CLEANING THAN JUST “CLEANING”!
At Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care, we want to ensure we provide the best service to all of our clients and their area rugs. Which is why our process looks like this:
STEP 1: Thoroughly inspect the area rugs to ensure we know the EXACT CONDITION of the rug before we begin cleaning. We also test for dye stability to make sure all of the colors will behave during the wash process. A UV Inspection is also performed to check if there are any urine deposits that need to be treated as well.
STEP 2: Once we have our client’s approval, we will use a special dusting machine on the back to shake loose the dry soil trapped deep in the rug’s fibers. Then, we flip the rug over and vacuum the top of it.
STEP 3: Each rug gets washed BY ITSELF with CUSTOM-FORMULATED CLEANING SOLUTIONS MATCHED TO THAT RUG! This way, every rug gets exactly what it needs. You also don’t have to worry about any cross-contamination with urine, soil, colors, etc. coming from other rugs because we NEVER batch clean!
STEP 4: The rug gets dried quickly to ensure a proper dry. This step is EXTREMELY important to ensure the best results from cleaning. Drying quickly and aggressively prevents problems with dye migration.
STEP 5: A final, post-cleaning inspection is done, just to ensure there is nothing else that the rug needs before it goes back home to our clients.
As you can see, with our extensive and thorough process, it makes sense why rugs can’t be returned to you in just a few days! It’s always best to plan ahead for when you need your area rug cleaned for a specific date – be it moving, a party, or just visiting guests. However, we may be able to perform a rush cleaning if the need is there for an additional charge.
