Sometimes the need to get our area rug cleaned sneaks up on us. It isn’t something we normally think about – sure, we walk on it daily and the occasional spill will sometimes happen, but we quickly dab it up to prevent staining and go on with our day. Which is usually when unexpected company comes or you plan a gathering of some sort and suddenly you realize. Your rug is pretty soiled and hasn’t been cleaned in a while – you want it to look nice for the guests coming to your home!
Ruthie here with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care and today, I wanted to take some time and talk about a question that I get fairly frequently: Can my area rug be done in time for my guests or event?
YES!…Depending on what your rug needs.
The answer isn’t as simple as it may seem like it should be. The old saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and that applies to cleaning area rugs, as well! Some people think that they can drop their rug off with us and it can get cleaned and be ready for them by the next day. This just isn’t the case!
There are, after all, a lot of steps that go into the proper care of your Persian and Oriental area rug. Even synthetic rugs require special care so that they get exactly what they need. We at Arizona Oriental try our hardest to accommodate our client’s needs and time lines. However, there are some situations that we just can’t rush through.
For instance: Rugs with unstable dyes need to be handled carefully and have an added step in the cleaning to help stabilize these dyes. We need to make sure that the colors in your rug do not need additional treatments to prevent dye migration before rushing them through the cleaning. Some rugs that have unstable dyes are still able to be rushed. Others have dyes that are so unstable, we simply cannot put a rush on them.
We always advise our clients to give us as much time as possible to take care of their area rugs. However, we also understand that life just happens and time has a bad habit of getting away from us. There may be an additional rush charge for the cleaning, but we will try our hardest to accommodate your needs as best as we can.
