It probably comes as no surprise that at Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care, we see a lot of dirty rugs come into us.  Some rugs are more soiled than others - it just depends on how recently the rug was last cleaned (if it’s been cleaned at all) and how old the rug is.  The location of the rug in the home and the level of activity also have something to do with how soiled an area rug gets, too.

I know that life has a bad habit of getting away from us.  Sometimes it isn’t always super easy getting your rug professionally cleaned. It tends to be one of those things that gets put on the backburner in favor of other, seemingly more important things.

But it’s important to remember that rugs live hard lives on our floor, getting pounded on by foot traffic from adults, kids, and pets alike.  Not to mention the spills that happen over time or the occasional animal urine accident.  All of this can get rugs really soiled!

Just because your rug is heavily soiled doesn’t mean it’s “too bad” to clean!

Take a look at this lovely little rug that recently came into us – as you can see, it was quite soiled.  Not only was there a lot of day-to-day traffic soil on the rug, but there were animal accidents as well!  To top it off, this rug is made out of a faux silk fiber called “mercerized cotton” which has notoriously low performance and attracts soil like crazy.

Our client fell in love with the design and colors in this rug, which she found at an estate sale.  She wanted to see if we could get the rug a little cleaner so that she could use it in her own home.  Take a look at the after photo here to see what the rug looked like after we thoroughly washed it and treated it for the urine deposits in the rug.  WOW!  WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!  Our client fell in love with the rug all over again and was so happy with the bright colors that were hiding beneath the mask of high soil.
