Does My Rug REALLY Need to Be Cleaned?
Hi folks, I’m Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care here in Prescott AZ once again! I often get clients asking me if they need to have their ENTIRE area rug cleaned or if they can get away with only having the main traffic pattern on one end cleaned. The simple answer is that no, you cannot get away with that!
Our rug washing procedure involves giving your area rugs a full-submersion bath with our specially-formulated cleaning products. Not only is it impossible to do this on only part of your area rug, but it just doesn’t make sense from a cleaning standpoint! You wouldn’t wash only part of your clothes when you did laundry, would you? The same thing goes for area rugs!
I can understand why some people may think they don't need to have their entire area rug cleaned, especially if they have furniture that sits on top of it. But even if you can’t see the dirt and soil on your entire rug, I promise you it’s still there. Area rugs are filters for our homes and collect everything from soil to dust and pollen. If you only clean the part of the area rug where you can visibly see the soil and traffic pattern, it may turn out looking great. However, the rest of the rug won’t match because it will still be dirty!
