Area Rug Cleaner Prescott. What is Best Soil Prevention

I’m frequently questioned about dry soil on your rugs, and the answer is always the same. Area rugs are prone to severe wear and significant soiling since they are exposed to dry dirt. It can also cause significant harm if neglected.

Area Rug Cleaner Prescott. What is Best Soil Prevention

Hi Y'all! It’s Ruthie here with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care

Our goal at Arizona Oriental is to help our customers maintain their area rugs between professional cleanings by providing them with the proper skills. Vacuuming thick wool area rugs can be tricky, but today I’m going to explain to you how to do it correctly.

How Often to Vacuum Rugs in Prescott?

Regular vacuuming is your best defense against dry soil accumulation deep within the rug’s fibers. However, when we trample on dry soil, it acts like grit paper, wearing away at the fibers until they are exposed. This generates traffic patterns and might cause the loss of fiber.

Compared to other, more delicate rugs, rugs with a thick, substantial pile may accommodate more vacuuming.

If you live in a busy household with many children and dogs, vacuum your rug at least once a week. The key aim is to always keep on top of the dry soil!

Which is the Best Vacuum to Use?

A canister vacuum is preferred. Without the need to use a beater bar to remove dry soil, which would be harsh on rug fibers and produce vacuum lines on your fine area rugs, this vacuum provides outstanding suction.

Note, vacuums for beater bars are made for wall-to-wall carpets, not for area rugs. If this is your only choice, either turn the beater bar off or lift it to its maximum setting to avoid harm to the fibers of your rug.

If your rug is rippling, don’t use an upright vacuum over it; instead, use an upholstery tool attachment with the upholstery tool attachment.

What About Fringes and Side Cords?

In addition, turn your rug over every 3-4 months and use a vacuum beater bar on the back to shake out any dry soil that has made its way into the rug’s base. This helps to avoid the collection of dirt.

It would help if you never waited for a traffic pattern to appear from the soil collection before vacuuming and cleaning your rug. So, call us right now if you think your carpet could use some TLC.
