Hi folks!  It’s me, Ruthie, with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care here in Prescott AZ again!  Something that I’ve always learned time and again throughout my life is that it’s critical to choose the right tool for the job.  Wool and silk area rugs are no different!

I always caution my clients here away from using just any spotter on their area rugs, especially those with wool and silk fibers.  Unfortunately, all of the products that can be found on store shelves are much too strong and have a very high pH that will do some serious damage to rug fibers and dyes.

I’ve always been a firm believer that the time to prepare for the inevitable emergency spot cleaning is before it ever happens!  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself scrambling to find a rag and the right spotter for an emergency spill! Be it the nylon wall-to-wall carpet, the table cloth, or even my own clothes.  Imagine that panic when it comes to a spot on your fine area rug!

Using the right spotter can make all the difference in the world when it comes to achieving good results or, worse yet, making matters even worse!  It kind of acts just like a little insurance policy just in case something spills on your lovely, fine area rugs.
