Regular vacuuming removes the dry soil that gets left behind on our rugs on a daily basis. Dry soil is very abrasive and and grinds away at delicate wool and silk fibers when it is allowed to build up. Vacuuming regularly (at least once or twice a week) helps to prevent the buildup of dry soil.

Blot up spills & spots as quickly as possible to prevent permanent staining. A white towel or stack of plain paper towels can be used to gently dab up the spill. Work your way from the outside of the spill toward the center and NEVER rub a spot! This will prevent the spill from spreading and becoming a larger stain.

Have your area rug professionally cleaned at least every 2 years. Regular vacuuming and spotting are great, but there is no substitute for deep, professional cleaning! Rugs that see more traffic activity should be cleaned more often.

Always address animal urine accidents as quickly as possible. Animal urine is very acidic and when it is left unaddressed, dry rot occurs. This weakens foundation fibers and causes splits, holes, and tears to form in your beautiful rugs.
