3 Simple Tricks That Really Work to Help Prevent Permanent Stains on Your Fine Area Rugs – Sedona AZ

If there are a few things that little ones are excellent at, it’s stealing our hearts, imagination, and MAKING MESSES!  Some adults (including myself) are pretty good at making messes too.  I’m Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care and the trick to understand is this: A mess is only one spill, muddy footprint, or sick child away from potentially ruining your fine area rug.  PREPARE for the unavoidable spot and emergency spot cleaning – doing so is critical in achieving good spotting success.

Here are 3 simple tricks that I use in my own home to keep you ahead of the game.  By playing the game well, you can make all the difference in removing the spot or ruining the rug!

1. Hide a white towel under a cushion of the sofa for easy access.  Seconds count, so preparing ahead before the inevitable spill happens is very important!  The faster you can get up the excess fluid, the closer you will be to successfully removing the spot.
2. Never rub a spot! I can’t tell you how many small spots I have seen turn into nightmare huge spots because people rubbed them.  Blot the spot instead, working from the outer edges of the spot to the center of it.
3.
